In the year 320, Prince Arslan, heir to the prosperous Kingdom of Pars, is a kind and curious young man, quite different from his belligerent father, King Andragoras III. Pars, with its capital Ecbatana, is a powerful nation situated at the heart of East-West trade routes. At the age of 14, Arslan participates in his first battle against the invading forces of the neighboring empire of Lusitania. However, due to a betrayal by a trusted official, the Parsian army is decimated, and Ecbatana falls. Arslan barely escapes with his life, accompanied by the loyal warrior Daryun, and embarks on a journey to reclaim his fallen kingdom.
