In the year 2047, a black meteorite falls to Earth, unleashing grotesque monsters known as D2s. These creatures are drawn to music, leading to a worldwide ban on melodies. Humanity's only defense against the D2s are Musicarts, young women who embody classical musical scores and draw power from them, led by Conductors. Takt, a Conductor, partners with the Musicart Destiny (also known as Unmei). Takt longs for music to return to the world, while Destiny is driven to destroy the D2s. Together, they embark on a journey to New York.
