In the Valschein Kingdom, the setting of an otome RPG, black hair carries an extreme stigma. Yumiella Dolkness, a count's daughter scorned from birth for her pitch-black hair, is a minor villainess in the main story who returns after the ending as a hidden boss with stats rivaling the heroes. At age five she recovers memories of her previous life in Japan as an introverted college student and devoted gamer. She has no interest in the game's romance and wants only to avoid her fate and live quietly. Left largely to herself on her family's domain by neglectful parents, she lets her gamer instincts take over and trains relentlessly, especially her rare dark-type magic. By the time she enrolls in the Royal Academy, she has reached level 99.
