A young girl who spent most of her life confined to a hospital room, passing the time with otome games, finds herself living inside one of those games as its villainess, the noblewoman Aileen Lauren Dautriche. Her past-life memories return at the worst possible moment: during the banquet marking the end of the academy's winter term, when crown prince and childhood friend Cedric Jeanne Elmir publicly breaks off their engagement in front of the student body and declares his love for Lilia Rainworth, the game's heroine. Aileen now knows the story has her headed for a bad ending and death at the hands of the demon king in three months. Her recollection of the plot is patchy, and the main love interest is no help, so she makes a bold plan to survive: win over the final boss, Demon King Claude Jeanne Elmir, Cedric's half-brother, and make him fall in love with her.
