After dying in an accident, a young man from our world is reincarnated as a baby in another world. There he is found and adopted by Merlin Wolford, a celebrated hero known as the "Sage" who has rescued the world from disaster many times over. Naming the child Shin, Merlin raises him as his grandson in isolation from the rest of society and teaches him the ways of magic. Absorbing everything his grandfather has to offer, Shin grows into a person of astonishing power. When he turns 15, however, Merlin realizes he has overlooked something important: he never taught Shin common sense or how ordinary life in this world works. The result is an unusual boy whose overwhelming abilities are matched only by his ignorance of social norms, setting the stage for an unconventional fantasy life in a new world.
