Set at the end of the first millennium, this historical action anime follows Thorfinn, the son of a great Viking warrior. After his father is murdered by the mercenary leader Askeladd, Thorfinn joins Askeladd's band of Vikings, not out of loyalty, but to seek revenge. He dreams of defeating Askeladd in a duel and avenging his father, all while holding onto tales of a fertile land to the west called Vinland, a place free from war and slavery. As Thorfinn hones his skills on the battlefield, he becomes entangled in the brutal war for the crown of England.
