Chika Suzugamori is a college student and aspiring manga artist who won a rookie manga award but keeps struggling to break into the industry. After three of her new storyboard drafts are rejected in a single day, she feels a sudden urge to get away from her desk and travel. On impulse she posts an online poll asking where she should go, and the unexpectedly large response leaves her committed to following the results. Setting out from Tokyo with no fixed plan, she begins a spontaneous journey across Japan, sometimes alone and sometimes with friends.
