In the 21st century, the existence of animal-humans, also known as Beastmen, becomes public after centuries of being hidden. These Beastmen, possessing a "Beast Factor" that allows them to change shape, face conflict with humans. To provide a safe haven, Anima City is established. Michiru Kagemori, a normal human, suddenly transforms into a tanuki-human. She flees to Anima City, where she meets Shirou Ogami, a wolf-human who harbors a strong dislike for humans. As Michiru tries to understand her sudden transformation, she and Shirou become entangled in a major incident within the city.
