An introverted college student and devoted gamer from modern Japan is reborn as Yumiella Dolkness, the villainess of the otome RPG Light Magic and the Hero. She recovers her past-life memories at age five. The game is set in the Varschein Kingdom, where black hair and dark-type magic are linked to the Demon Lord. As a count's daughter with pitch-black hair, Yumiella has been feared and disliked since birth. She also learns that her character is the game's hidden boss, who appears after the heroine Alicia Ehnleit and her love interests defeat the Demon Lord. Yumiella wants a quiet life and plans to keep away from the protagonists and the main story. The game's romance holds no interest for her, but its fantasy systems do. Her gamer instincts take over, and she spends her childhood secretly training her rare magic until she reaches the maximum level of 99.
