Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace

Synopsis

Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace is an original anime inspired by the works of author Edogawa Ranpo, with the setting moved to the present day. It opens at a middle school where a series of bizarre murders has taken place. Student Yoshio Kobayashi, a curious and rather detached boy, finds himself at the center of one case when he wakes in his classroom holding the weapon used against his teacher. His anxious friend Souji Hashiba is drawn into helping him prove his innocence. Genius detective Kogorou Akechi arrives to investigate the crimes, and he and Kobayashi quickly develop a strong mutual interest. Eager to enter Akechi's world, Kobayashi offers to become his assistant, despite Hashiba's worries. The series blends surreal mystery with horror.
