Synopsis

Yato is a minor deity without a shrine, who dreams of gaining millions of worshippers. He offers his services as a "delivery god" for a 5-yen offering, helping people with various tasks, from finding lost kittens to fighting ayakashi, which are emotional fragments that cause trouble. One day, while on a job, he is nearly hit by a bus but is saved by a high school girl named Hiyori Iki. This incident causes Hiyori's soul to frequently slip out of her body, turning her into a "hanyou" or half-phantom. She enlists Yato's help to return her to normal, and they begin to work together. Yato also finds a boy named Yukine who becomes his new "Shinki," a divine weapon made from the spirit of a dead person.
