Ren Amamiya transfers to Shujin Academy in Tokyo for his second year of high school after an incident that resulted in a criminal record. He lives with Sojiro Sakura and soon discovers a mysterious app that leads him to the Metaverse, a world where people's distorted desires manifest as "shadows." Ren awakens his Persona, Arsène, a power that allows him to fight these shadows. Alongside other troubled students, he forms the "Phantom Thieves of Hearts" to reform corrupt adults by "stealing their hearts" and making them regret their misdeeds.
