Inspired by "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter," this anime reimagines Japan's oldest folktale with a modern twist. The story is set in the virtual realm of Tsukuyomi, an online space where people can pursue their creativity and live different lives. Iroha Sakayori, a 17-year-old high school student, balances her busy life by watching popular streamer Yachiyo Runami, the administrator of Tsukuyomi. One day, Iroha discovers a baby emerging from a shining telephone pole and takes her home. The baby rapidly grows into a girl Iroha's age, who is named Kaguya.
