Hanako Honda, a cheerful but airheaded middle schooler, plays a game of "look-the-other-way" with Olivia, a blonde transfer student who was born and raised in Japan and cannot speak English. Their boisterous play attracts the attention of Kasumi Nomura, an intellectual and serious girl who is terrible at English and dislikes games due to childhood trauma. Despite her initial reluctance, Kasumi is drawn into their antics, and the three form a "Pastime Club" (also referred to as "Players' Club" or "遊び人研究会"). This club becomes the setting for their daily, often absurd, school life.
