In a post-apocalyptic future, robots have subjugated humanity, with Braiking Boss ruling the world. A mysterious girl named Luna is believed to be humanity's savior. Fearing her, Braiking Boss dispatches his most powerful cyborg warriors, Casshern, Dio, and Leda, to eliminate her. Casshern succeeds in killing Luna, an act that triggers a cataclysmic event leading to the world's ruin. Hundreds of years later, both robots and the few remaining humans face extinction due to a poisonous environment that causes robots to rust and humans to struggle with reproduction. Casshern reawakens with no memory of his past or the role he played in Luna's death, embarking on a journey to uncover the truth about himself and this decaying world.
