Kouryou Academy High School is a combat school for "Blazers," individuals who can materialize weapons from their souls. Tooru Kokonoe enrolls to gain power after the loss of his sister and friends. However, his Blaze manifests as a shield rather than a weapon, an unusual occurrence. The academy utilizes a "Duo" partner system, where students form pairs and live together to enhance their abilities. Tooru is partnered with Julie Sigtuna, a silver-haired foreign student, and they begin their shared life at the academy.
