In the year 2031, humanity is on the brink of extinction. A young man named Yuji Kaido, suffering from an incurable illness, chose to be cryogenically frozen, hoping for a future cure. He awakens over two decades later to a world ravaged by giant, insect-like alien creatures known as the Blue, which have replaced humans at the top of the food chain. Yuji is rescued by a team of soldiers, including Marlene Angel, who inform him that the Blue have taken over Earth. The remaining humans have retreated to a space station called Second Earth. Yuji must now join the resistance to fight for humanity's survival against the Blue.
