Cross Academy is an elite boarding school with a unique class structure: the Day Class for ordinary human students and the Night Class for a group of beautiful, genius students who are secretly vampires. Yuuki Cross, the adopted daughter of the academy's chairman, and Zero Kiryu, her childhood friend, serve as the school's prefects. Their main duty is to maintain order between the two classes and protect the Day Class from discovering the Night Class's true nature. Yuuki harbors feelings for Kaname Kuran, a pureblood vampire who is the leader of the Night Class and her savior from a vampire attack ten years prior. In contrast, Zero holds a deep-seated hatred for vampires due to a tragic past event.
