Guts, known as the Black Swordsman, is a feared warrior in a medieval world, marked by a tumultuous childhood and countless battles. He wields a gigantic sword and has an iron prosthetic hand. Indelibly marked with "The Brand," an unholy symbol that attracts forces of darkness, Guts is condemned to be their sacrifice. Accompanied by the elf Puck, he relentlessly follows a bloodstained path, driven by a quest for vengeance against the one who betrayed him and stripped him of everything important. Guts possesses inhuman strength, which he uses to cut through the ranks of the damned and anyone who opposes him.
