Total Surrender is a collection of one-shots exploring themes of admiration from afar and secret love. One story features Kimikazu, who discovers his younger step-brother Akito has romantic feelings for him. Another follows two department store employees in love but struggling to find shared time off due to their busy work schedules. A third story centers on a doctor's secretary attempting to earn his superior's respect before confessing his feelings, while a young company president, Nariaki Chuganji, relies on his family's long-time servant Konoe, whom he views as an older brother.
