The five members of the Senkō High School Literature Club—Jurai Andou, Tomoyo Kanzaki, Hatoko Kushikawa, Sayumi Takanashi, and the elementary school-aged niece of their faculty advisor, Chifuyu Himeki—suddenly acquire supernatural powers. Jurai gains the ability to produce black flames, Tomoyo can control time, Hatoko manipulates the five elements, Sayumi can repair objects and heal living things, and Chifuyu can create objects from thin air. Despite their new abilities, their daily lives remain largely unchanged, with no epic battles or world-threatening organizations appearing. They continue to navigate their ordinary school days, wondering if the heroic fantasy life they imagined will ever materialize.
