In a world where only pure maidens can contract with spirits from Astral Zero to become elementalists, Kamito Kazehaya is the sole male with this ability. He enrolls in Areisha Spirit Academy, a school dedicated to training priestesses, where he is the only male student. Upon arrival, he encounters Claire Rouge, a student attempting to contract a spirit, but Kamito inadvertently claims it. Headmaster Greyworth Ciel Mais then tasks Kamito with forming a team with the priestesses to compete in the Blade Dance, a festival that determines the most powerful elementalist.
