Her confusion deepens when a new student, Akizuki Tohru, appears in her class, and everyone but her seems to know him, even claiming he's been there all along and was her childhood friend. Sensing something amiss, Ai investigates Tohru and discovers the school has no records of him. When confronted, Tohru reveals he is an ESPer who infiltrated the school to investigate a series of drug overdose deaths. This revelation draws Ai into his dangerous world.
