Yamada Shintarou is an aspiring monster guardian, a role dedicated to protecting monsters and demons from humans who seek to harm or eliminate them. Equipped with a two-by-four and a talking rabbit companion, he trains to fight demon hunters and earn his license. During his training, he encounters Nao, a middle school girl, and immediately develops an unusual affection for her neckline. Shintarou becomes determined to safeguard Nao and ensure nothing obstructs his view of her nape, even if it means protecting her from monsters, ghosts, or demon hunters.
