Nanako Kuwabara, a university student nearing graduation without a job, is captivated by a dress in a shop window. After an encounter with the shop's owner, Hirata, she is so impressed by his tailoring skills that she accepts his offer to work part-time at his old tailoring shop to pay for the dress. Although Hirata initially states her employment is temporary, Nanako begins to learn the craft and finds herself steadily improving under his guidance.
