In 2009, a magnitude-7.8 earthquake, known as the "Shibuya Earthquake," devastated Tokyo's Shibuya ward, causing widespread panic and significant casualties. Six years later, as Shibuya undergoes reconstruction, a new series of mysterious deaths begins. These events are dubbed "The Return of the New Generation Madness" because they coincide with the anniversary of the original disaster. Takuru Miyashiro, a student at Hekiho Academy and a member of its newspaper club, starts investigating these serial killings with his friends, aiming to uncover the truth behind both the current events and the incident from six years prior.
