Kotatsu Neko is an anime based on a 2006 live-action science-fiction/fantasy romance film. Set in a Tokyo neighborhood, the story centers on two cats, Shito and Zero, who live under a kotatsu. Shito is a white, girlish cat, while Zero is a cool black cat. Their owner is Rei "Junior" Fujisaki, a third-year middle-school student and a hikikomori obsessed with games. Junior harbors an unconfessed crush on a classmate, and Shito also has a secret, unrequited love.
