Trama

Humanity discovers intelligent extraterrestrial life through a received message. These aliens are only interested in trade, offering techno-organic robot frames in exchange for small amounts of limestone. These frames are black-box technology, but can be augmented with human engineering. Their low cost and availability to anyone lead to their widespread adoption, replacing existing transportation and construction methods globally. Despite their potential, the use of these frames in warfare has been largely prohibited by international treaties.
