Obatarian is an anime that explores the concept of the "Obatalian," a pejorative term derived from a pun combining the Japanese word "obaasan" (old lady) and the English word "battalion." These individuals are characterized by their aggressive behavior, such as rushing onto trains to secure seats and haggling over items not typically subject to negotiation, like grocery store produce. They are depicted as fearless and relentless, akin to a barbarian battalion. The series presents six distinct stories, each focusing on the destructive impact of one such Obatalian.
