Trama

This informational video from Kino Tokyo Tree Products outlines the environmental challenges facing Tokyo's mountains. Following World War II, trees were extensively harvested to rebuild towns, and new trees were densely replanted. However, over the 70 years it takes for these trees to mature, imported lumber has dominated the Japanese market. This has led to an overabundance of unused, mature lumber in Tokyo's mountains, disrupting the original ecosystem. Kino Tokyo Tree Products aims to address this issue by offering wood products, gifts, and crafts that reflect traditional Japanese culture while promoting responsible harvesting of this local lumber.
