Kappa

Sinopsis

This film explores the traditional Japanese belief in Kappa, water imps said to inhabit rivers and lakes, and their historical presence in art and folklore. It portrays a Japan where Kappa once thrived in vibrant waterside environments. However, with the advent of 20th-century industrialization, the landscape transformed. Reclaimed lakes, concrete riverbanks, and agricultural chemicals led to the destruction of habitats for various creatures, including the Kappa.
