Gen, a catcher for his high school baseball team, faces a crisis when their pitcher is sidelined by an injury. He discovers Leo, a talented pitcher, playing with local kids. However, Leo is reluctant to join the team due to a past family scandal involving his father, a former professional baseball player whose career was ruined by allegations of game-fixing. Leo's refusal stems from a desire to distance himself from his father's tarnished reputation and to avoid baseball entirely.
