ZENSHU

Synopsis

Natsuko Hirose becomes an animator straight out of high school, and her talent carries her to a directing debut almost immediately. Her first anime is a runaway success that turns into a social phenomenon, and she is hailed as a rising genius director. Her next assignment is a theatrical romantic comedy built around the theme of first love. Natsuko has never been in love, though, and she cannot grasp what first love feels like. Unable to draw the storyboards, she brings the film's production to a halt. She also misses deadlines and insists on controlling every detail of the work. Then one day she collapses at her desk and wakes up inside "A Tale of Perishing," the anime movie she adored as a child.
