Rick and Morty

Synopsis

Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim. It follows Rick Sanchez, a cynical, alcoholic mad scientist, and his kind-hearted but anxious 14-year-old grandson Morty Smith, who divide their time between family life and adventures across infinite realities, reaching other planets and dimensions through portals and Rick's flying saucer. Rick lives as a guest with the Smith household in a suburb outside Seattle: Beth, a horse surgeon dissatisfied with her marriage, her insecure husband Jerry, and their children Morty and the more conventional 17-year-old Summer, who sometimes joins the trips. The show balances domestic family drama against the misanthropic grandfather pulling his grandson into hijinks, and alternate versions of the characters appear in other dimensions.
