Saitou Yakumo is a university student born with mismatched eyes. His left eye is red and lets him see ghosts and spirits. Rude and unkempt, he spends his time at the university's movie research association, and he believes the dead remain bound to the world by a specific cause that must be removed before they can rest. Ozawa Haruka, a fellow student, comes to him for help when a friend is said to be possessed. Doubtful at first, she is convinced of his ability when he relays words from her older sister, who died when Haruka was a child. Together the two begin investigating the frightening incidents unfolding on campus.
