In the spring of his final year of high school, the quiet and mysterious Tatsuma Hiyuu transfers to Magami Academy in Shinjuku, Tokyo. His martial arts skill soon draws him into friendship with the class delinquent Kyouichi Houraiji, and he also crosses paths with Yuuya Daigo of the wrestling club, Komaki Sakurai, captain of the girls' archery club, and Student Council President Aoi Misato. When the Ryumyaku, or Dragon Vein, the flow of arcane energy beneath the city, is suddenly disturbed, the five students awaken supernatural abilities. Around the same time, Oni (demons) and reanimated corpses begin to appear in Tokyo at night. Guided by Hisui Kisaragi, heir of an antiques-dealing clan, the five decide to use their new powers to protect the city. The series is based on a manga adapted from a 1998 Nintendo role-playing game.
