Ryo Saeba, known as City Hunter, operates as a "sweeper" in Tokyo, cleaning up the city's criminal underworld. He is a highly skilled private detective and bodyguard, proficient with his Colt Python. His partner is Kaori Makimura, the sister of his deceased former partner. Clients can contact City Hunter by writing "XYZ" on a blackboard at Shinjuku Station. Ryo has a weakness for beautiful women, often pursuing them, which Kaori frequently curbs with her signature 10 kg hammer. Together, they tackle dangerous cases, from petty criminals to organized crime syndicates.
