Hundreds of thousands of years ago, the advanced planet Cybertron was home to two factions of super robot lifeforms: the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. Their endless war depleted Cybertron's energy, forcing both sides to leave the planet in search of new power sources. Their conflict eventually reached prehistoric Earth, and later, modern-day Japan. The Autobots strive for peace and coexistence, while the Decepticons seek power and control, leaving Earth and its inhabitants caught in the middle of their brutal civil war.
