The Proposal

Handlung

Francesca works as a live-in secretary and housekeeper for a wealthy, callous woman to support her younger sister. Her employer exploits Francesca's desperate situation, demanding more than her job title suggests. One day, Professor Renier Pitt-Colwyn, a world-renowned heart specialist, visits the manor. Although Francesca and the professor have met before, he pretends not to recognize her, seemingly due to her status as a servant.
