Tanjou! is a manga that compiles three distinct stories. The titular story, "Tanjou!", follows Asami, a high school student raised under strict conditions, who becomes pregnant by her boyfriend, Takashi. Despite facing disapproval, they decide to keep the child. Concurrently, Asami's best friend, Rei, uncovers secrets about her own past that create a deep connection to Asami's predicament. This particular story generated controversy due to its theme of teenage pregnancy. The other two stories are "Utako to Yonde Mou Ichido", about a young leukemia patient and her fiancé, and "Danshi Shikkaku", which depicts a young man gradually transforming into a woman after an unusual accident.
