On Christmas Eve morning, seven-year-old Sonja discovers a note from her uncle Henrik in her advent calendar. This note initiates a scavenger hunt, leading Sonja through her house, into the garage, and eventually into the forest. Her quest is to find the Northern Lights, but during her search in the snow, she encounters an unexpected surprise that was not part of her uncle's planned game.
