Orihara Rentarou is a high school student who trains daily with his skilled friend Haruhiko, whom he regards as an older brother. Their school is close to a restricted zone, off-limits due to the presence of "Others," monsters that prey on humans. After a mysterious bat swarm targets him, Rentarou starts hearing a voice urging him to enter the forbidden area. He soon discovers that the Others are real and that he is one of them.
