Rewrite: Side-B is a manga adaptation of Key's ninth visual novel. The story unfolds in the fictional Japanese city of Kazamatsuri, a unique urban environment where extensive tree planting and afforestation have resulted in the city being largely overgrown with vegetation, blending rural and traditional city elements. The protagonist, Kotarou, attends high school in Kazamatsuri and is a member of the occult research society. He and his friends frequent the society's clubroom, as well as the city's forests and Kotarou's home.
