Taichi, burdened by the responsibilities of being a future king, leaves the palace to live anonymously. One day, he saves a mysterious boy named Jiei, who possesses a golden shadow and hails from a distant land where foreigners face immediate execution. Despite the danger, Taichi brings Jiei home and asks about his purpose. Jiei then places his hands around Taichi's neck, declaring his intention to kill him, but instead kisses him.
