Kotaro Mitsuki, a 41-year-old manga artist, lives with his 14-year-old daughter, Moyu. His past success as a serialized artist for a popular magazine is behind him, and he now struggles financially. Despite his misfortunes, Kotaro is good-natured and helps others in need, often leading him into further trouble. He is portrayed as a luckless, money-grubbing man who, surprisingly, might be popular with women.
