Rinataro, a high school student and aspiring road cyclist, faces a devastating loss when his mother and sister die in a traffic accident, and his father is left in a vegetative state. Having just been defeated by his rival, Fujisawa, in the "Tour de Okinawa" road race, Rinataro is forced to abandon his dream of competing in the "Tour de France." To support his family and cover his father's medical expenses, Rinataro decides to transition from road racing to keirin, a professional track cycling sport known for its high speeds and competitive nature, where he can earn money.
