Naoto Kenzaki harbors a secret, long-standing love for his childhood friend, Aki Tachibana, who is the same age. Their close relationship, reminiscent of a common fantasy involving next-door friends, has a unique aspect: Aki is male. Naoto has been deeply in love with Aki for as long as he can recall, but he refrains from acting on his feelings to protect their friendship. Aki, seemingly unaware of Naoto's emotions, often behaves with a high level of comfort around him. Despite Naoto's self-perception as a "loser," he is a typical teenage boy struggling to suppress his desires.
