The manga "Kagerou" introduces a young boy who is deeply affected after witnessing an elderly man capture a stray dog. The old man, an animal control officer and a habitual alcoholic, explains that sometimes there is no alternative with wild, potentially aggressive dogs. It is revealed that he is a former kamikaze pilot who never received his final orders before the war concluded. Over time, the boy begins to spend more time with the animal control officer, forming an unusual connection.
