Kiichi is a year younger than Moeko and is intended to become her new little brother. Moeko finds it challenging to accept this "replacement" brother while still processing her grief. Kiichi, having recently moved from Tokyo, adapts to his new rural life by the ocean, despite the underlying tensions within his new family.
