# Nogitsu

> Nogitsu is a catalog and community portal for anime, donghua, animation, manga, manhwa, manhua and webtoons. Work pages bring together titles in many languages, characters, staff, voice actors, studios, episodes, relations and similar works. Nogitsu does not stream or host episodes or chapters.

## What Nogitsu is not

- Not a streaming site. Nogitsu has no player for episodes and stores no episode files.
- Not a reading site. Nogitsu has no chapter reader and stores no scans or pages.
- Not a download or link index. The catalog has no downloads, torrents or links to unlicensed copies. Links on title pages go to official websites, official social accounts and Wikipedia. Member posts must not link to unlicensed copies, and such links are removed when reported.
- Episode and chapter lists show numbers, titles and release dates so that members can mark their progress. They do not open any content.
- The only videos are trailers embedded from YouTube. They are not stored on Nogitsu.

## Data use

- The catalog data compiled by Nogitsu is open for non-commercial use. You may read, cite and reuse it free of charge in personal, educational, research and community projects, provided that you credit Nogitsu and link to the page you used.
- Commercial use, such as selling the data or building a paid product on it, is not allowed without written permission.
- Where Nogitsu holds the rights, this data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0): credit Nogitsu, do not use it commercially, and share what you build on it under the same licence. The table that links the same title across sources is derived from anime-offline-database and stays under ODbL 1.0.
- Data that comes from another source stays under the terms of that source, and those terms come first. MangaBaka and AniDB publish their data under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, anime-offline-database under ODbL 1.0, and AniList allows non-commercial use of its data.
- Reviews, comments, posts and lists belong to the members who wrote them and are not part of the open data.

## Languages

Every page is available in en, tr, de, fr, es, pt, it, ru, id, ja, ko, zh. English is the default; other languages use a path prefix such as /tr/.
